Here at BABA SEO we have developed a list of over 25 SEO Tips and Tricks 2014
and beyond, as we only have 2 months left in the year many businesses
are starting to think about strategy in 2014. As we have been involved
in the SEO space in India over 4 years it is only natural that we
develop a list of effective SEO Tips for all to learn from both new and
old SEO’s will hopefully pick up a tip or two from this list.
Tip 1
– Making sure content is relevant to the website – focus on building
content that your readers will want to read and also share.
Tip 2
– Directories are still worth using if they are over PR2 – Domain
Authority 20. Always make sure you check the PR of the directory if you
are going to build a link. The reason is if you use a de indexed
directory it can be harmful to your brand.
Tip 3
– Never trust directories which ask you to use reciprocal links, lets
be honest if the directory has a dodgy reciprocal linking strategy then
it is probably going to be accepting all types of spam website.
Tip 4
– Never used scraped or spun content on a business website. It is only
going to hurt you in the long term if you want to build a viable brand
which will last long term.
Tip 6
– Make sure you never build a high amount of highly commercial anchor
texts to your home page. It is advisable to mix up the anchor text of
links to your site. you need to mix up your link profile with a high
ratio of branded links and natural URL links to keep Google happy moving
forward.
Tip 7
– Never use more than two Commercial keywords in your title tags and
also try to make your title natural when you write them any thing that
seems to optimized and be hit by an over optimization penalty.
Tip 8
– Make sure you spend time to craft “readable” and keyword rich Titles
and Descriptions for example a poor quality title is BUY SHOES | SHOES |
LEATHER SHOES where as a good title is – “Buy Shoes Online from a
Reputable Supplier GTM Shoes Australia”. Try to include you brand name
in titles where possible.
Tip 9
– Make sure you use Netcomber to check if a website is part of a link
network http://netcomber.com Even when you build links you can monitor
the quality of the link using Netcomber.
Tip 10
– If you are looking to check out which keywords your competitors are
ranking for organically be sure to use SEM Rush – http://semrush.com
Tip 11 – If you are looking to check out where you competitors are building links be sure to use: http://ahrefs.com
Tip 12 – Focus on creating high quality content assets share able content if you want to future proof your strategy.

– Make sure you have Google Places for business set up and make sure

Tip 14
– Make sure you use your internal linking strategy effectively. Yet
ensure that you do not link to more than 100 links per page. If you link
to 1000 internal pages on your home page it can in fact be negative to
your internal linking strategy.
Tip 15
– When using the disavow tool make sure you are 100% sure about the
links you are disavowing. that been said monitor all links pointing to
your website on a weekly basis. If you see harmful links coming in it
may be worth disavowing them especially if they are from 1000′s of
pages.
Tip 16 – Make sure you effectively use social signals on your website and include correct social sharing buttons.
Tip 17
– Never build a huge amount of links to your site in a short period of
time it will only leave a negative impact. I have seen a fresh website
build 100,000+ links in a week it can harm the website from the staff.
When you launch a website make sure it has a natural link building flow
from the start.
Tip 18
– EMD (Exact Match Domain) are still worth using if you build a brand
from them with high quality content. Even for offline and digital
marketing if you have a great brand name for your website it will be
beneficial from a branding front. Here is an example of exact match

Tip 19 – Never build links on sites which are de indexed.
Tip 20
– Check competitors using “Site:www.website.com.au” syntax to see how
many pages are indexed, you can also use “link:www.website.com” yet the
thing is this will only show a small sample of links you are better
using Ahrefs to pull link data.
Tip 21
– Make sure you make good use of Google products such as – Google
Webmaster Tools and Bing webmaster tools to track errors on your
website. If you have a large amount of errors showing on webmaster tools
it is worth fixing.
Tip 22 – Use software such as screaming frog – http://www.screamingfrog.co.uk to crawl your website for errors.
Tip 23
– Ask business suppliers for links on their sites – like the saying
goes if you do not ask you do not get the same goes with link building.
Another thing you can do if you have a offline store is to check if
their is a store based website you can gain a link from.
Tip 24 – Use PR yet make sure you focus on high quality PR websites and not low quality PR sites.
